It was a very sad day for me and footballing fans alike after Stiliyan Petrov announced yesterday his retirement from football.

As a Villa fan I admired our Captain and I would like to wish him and his family all the best for the future.

ROMARIO - Brazil Legend - World Cup 94 Winner

I really am lost for words, here we have two pieces I created for Brazilian legend and World Cup Hero Romário.

I like many others have admired Romário and he has always been an idol to me. I am very fortunate to have a brother-in-law, Carlos Brum, who works within politics in Brasilia and was able to pass these two pieces onto Romário.

Romário very kindly signed a couple photo's of the figures as well as signing my Brazil shirt. He also very kindly had his photo taken with the figures.

Kevin Davies - Happy Birthday

These two figures were a request from Kevin Davies' wife Emma Davies as a present for his birthday today (26-03-13)

The first figure shows Kevin Davies on his début for England against Montenegro in 2010.

At the age of 33, Davies was called up to the England squad for the first time in his career for the Euro 2012 qualifying game against Montenegro on 12 October 2010. He made his début as a second half substitute for Peter Crouch and received a yellow card. At 33 years and 200 days, he became the oldest England debutant since the 38 year old Leslie Compton in 1950.

The second figure shows Kevin Davies celebrating his second goal against Leeds in October 2012.

Kevin joined Bolton in 2003 and has made over 403 first team appearances and scored over 85 goals to date.

On 12 April 2008, Davies scored his 100th career goal in a 1–0 win over West Ham United at the Reebok Stadium, despite dislocating a finger during the match and having it placed back into its socket allowing him to play on.

On 31 January 2009, Davies became Captain of Bolton Wanderers following the sale of Kevin Nolan to Newcastle United. The same day, Davies' first game as Captain saw him score two goals in Bolton's 3–2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur as well as equalling his record for goals in a Premier League season. In the following game, at home against West Ham United, he scored his 50th goal for Bolton, and his 10th of the season.

Paul Gascoinge 'Dentist Chair' Celebration

A request for the infamous 'Dentist Chair' Celebration

In the second game of the Euro 96 tournament, against Scotland, Gazza scored a memorable goal. Gascoigne received the ball from Darren Anderton outside the Scotland penalty area, moved as if to play the ball down the outside, but flicked the ball over Colin Hendry with his left foot and changed direction; Hendry was completely wrong-footed and, as the ball dropped, Gascoigne volleyed it with his right foot past Andy Goram.

The great goal was followed by the 'Dentist's chair' celebration referring to an incident before the Euro 1996, where England team players were photographed on a drunken night with Gascoigne, Teddy Sheringham and Steve McManaman shown drinking in a dentist's chair. After the goal Gascoigne lay on the ground as if he were sitting in the dentist's chair, and Shearer, MnManaman and Redknapp sprayed water from bottles into his open mouth.

Arsenal Legends - Adams - Henry - Wenger

Here we have three Arsenal Legends, two of which are immortalised outside the Emirates Stadium.

Firstly we have Thierry Henry as depicted in his famous celebration after scoring his wonder goal against Tottenham Hotspur at Highbury in November 2002.

Next we have Tony Adams as he celebrates scoring the championship winning goal against Everton in the 1997-98 season. He enjoyed a 19-year career at the only Club he ever played for and is Arsenal’s most successful Captain.

Now we have Arsene Wenger, He does not have a Statue outside the Emirates but if he did I am sure it would look like this.

Finally we have another Thierry Henry figure this time celebrating after coming off the bench to score the winner on his Arsenal return as the north London side beat Championship Leeds United 1-0 in the FA Cup

Everton Past and Present

Here we have a fantastic selection of Everton players past and present. This was a request from Evertonian, Paul.

The first figure is of Jelavic celebrating his goal v Tottenham by taking a spectators hat.

Next we have Pienaar with his goal celebration against Tottenham by pulling his shirt over his head revealing his t-shirt underneath that read 'God is Great'.

Another piece from the Tottenham game is manager David Moyes celebrating the dramatic late winner for his team.

players on the planet at this time.

Ronaldo has enjoyed spells at Sporting CP and Manchester United before completing a world record fee of £80m to Real Madrid in 2009. Ronaldo's goal tally for Madrid is phenomenal with 133 goals in 122 games.

January Transfers: Beckham to PSG + Balotelli to A.C Milan

January 2013's transfer window seen two high-profile players find new clubs.

Firstly we have David Beckham OBE, who has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a contract worth a reportedly £150,000 a week. It has also been said that David is to donate his entire wage to charity.

Beckham is a footballing superstar and a modern legend of the game. He has played for Manchester United, Preston North End (Loan), Real Madrid, Milan (Loan), Los Angeles Galaxy and the England national team for which he holds the appearance record for an outfield player.

Secondly we have another media favourite in Mario Balotelli who has joined Italian giants A.C Milan.

Balotelli started his career with Lumezzane and after only two appearances joined Internazionale, after 54 appearances and 20 goals Mario joined the Premier League with Manchester City. Balotelli has represented Italy 16 times and has scored 5 times, he was the first ever black player to represent Italy at a major tournament, Euro 2012.

Alan Shearer - The Celebration

Here we have one of the great English strikers Alan Shearer, a formidable striker who in his career scored 283 league goals including 260 in the Premier League and a total of 422 in all competitions including International at all levels. Shearer has amassed a goals to game ration of 0.667 throughout his career at every level.

Shearer played for Southampton, Blackburn, Newcastle and England and picked up countless individual awards including the Euro 96 Golden Boot and twice winning the PFA player of the year in 1995 and 1997. British Seed House at the BTME

The Bigga Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) is Europes leading showcase for turf professional.

Firmly established as Europe's foremost turf care show, this superb event takes place from 22-24 January 2013 at Harrogate International Centre over three vibrant days in which Harrogate, UK, becomes the heart of the turf care industry - meaning unbeatable networking opportunities.

Open times: 9am-5pm Tuesday 22nd & Wednesday 23rd and 9am-4pm Thursday 24th January 2013.

I was contacted by the British Seed House to paint a Subbuteo team featuring their logo. I was very keen on their idea as they wanted to use the team in a penalty shoot-out display for their REAL Grass Subbuteo Pitch.

GRASS ‘SUBBUTEO’ PITCH WILL GIVE BRITISH SEED HOUSES’ BTME STAND AN

EXTRA ‘KICK’

British Seed Houses is looking to put an extra ‘kick’ into its stand at BTME by staging a penalty shoot-out competition on a Subbuteo-size soccer pitch made up of real grass!

The UK’s largest privately-owned grass seed company is offering 40 kilos of the bentgrass of their choice to the winner of the competition, which will take place over the three days of the show in January.

The pitch is being grown on one of BSH’s cultivars, with timing critical to have it in best condition for ‘the big kick-off’.

“Visitors to our stand, A45 in Hall A, will be invited to take five penalties against their favourite BSH representative. The highest score over the three days will win,” said Richard Brown, Amenity Sales Manager for BSH.

In the event of a tie the names will be put into the BSH BTME Penalty Shoot-Out trophy and the winner drawn from there.

Richard, who is acting as ‘head groundsman’ for the pitch, said: “It’s a labour of love to get the pitch ready. I’m monitoring it regularly and every few days give it a trim with a pair of clippers. “In the meantime, my colleagues have been practising being goalkeeper, with varying degrees of success. No-one has yet shown themselves to be the table football equivalent of Peter Schmeichel or Gordon Banks!”

Billy 'Cesar' McNeil - Celtic Legend - 1967

Here we have the Celtic Legend Billy 'Cesar' McNeill.

Voted the greatest ever Captain of Celtic in 2002, McNeill will go down as a true Celtic Legend. He was a one man club with 790 appearances to his name and was the first British man to hold aloft the European Trophy for his 'Lisbon Lions'in 1967.

As Captain he won nine Scottish League Championships, seven Scottish Cups, and six Scottish League Cups.

I was curious to find out why his nickname was 'Cesar', here is what I found out, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Billy's nickname is Cesar, However, this doesn't come from any Roman connections, rather from a movie. In the original Ocean's 11, the actor Cesar Romero drove the getaway car.

Billy McNeill was one of the few members of the Celtic team that had a car.

Here we have the amazingly talented and the 'King' of Man Utd, one of the greats to ever play in the Premier League.

Eric Cantona was simply a genius with the ball, not only scoring goals but also assisting his team-mates, he will be remembered for his Kung-Fu kick on a Crystal Palace fan but even with this incident it was his incredible presence and determination on the pitch which he will be fondly remembered for as a true legend of the game.

A Time For Family

I have not posted here for a while due to the rush of Christmas orders. I have many many photo's of figures and teams I would like to post but due to nearly all the figures and teams are presents I am unable to show them yet.

So in the meantime I am going to show a request which really caught my imagination.

This figure was a request from Italy who wanted Father and Son figures wearing the Milan Home kit on one base to put upon their Birthday cake.

I have been told that everyone enjoyed the figure and that it looked much better in person.

By popular demand here we have 'The Three Wise Men' of the managerial world of football.

First of we have the legendary Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson, one of the greatest managers of all time winning nearly everything available in football.

Secondly we have the self proclaimed 'Special One' Jose Mourinho manager of Real Madrid, here is one of his most famous quotes:

“Please don’t call me arrogant, but I’m European champion and I think I’m a special one.”

Lastly we have Arsene Wenger manager of Arsenal for the last 16 years. In 2011 it was announced that Wenger was voted 'World Coach of the Decade' by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. The organization aggregated the results from each year of the decade, and Wenger had narrowly beaten Ferguson and Mourinho for the honour.
